My Diagnonosis: Candida & PCOS (And symptoms you should be looking out for).

For years, its felt like my mind has been covered with a think sheet of fog that hasn’t allowed me to be in the present and terrible skin that breaks out no matter what I do – as if I’m still going through puberty! My brain feels as if has been held hostage and not allowed to return to me, preventing me from being myself or living life to the fullest.  I know chronic fatigue is far too common amongst all of us and I refused to continue living like this!

chronic-fatigueI sincerly urge you to please visit your trusted holisticitian and get a full profile of blood work done to get to the bottom of the problem instead of using a temporary fix like extra coffee or sugar.

If you’ve had either of these sympotoms you know just how unbearable they are to live with. I’ve decided to share my personal story with you in the hopes of raising awareness and sharing how I am learning to treat and heal myself through holistic living – not medication!

Strangely enough, I was thrilled when my doctor told me that my blood work came back “off” – did this finally mean an answer to symptoms I’ve been struggling from for years??

My diagnosis of systemic candida and Polycystic Overian Syndrome (PCOS) made all the sense in the world to me. It felt as if a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders because I know both are treatable with diet and holistic remedies.

Here are some (there are many more) symptoms caused by candida:

  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Brain fog
  • Chronic finger, toe, yeast infections
  • Aching joints
  • Bad breath
  • White coated tongue
  • Chronic sinus infections
  • Post nasel drip
  • Slow metabolism
  • Acneil_fullxfull.3224156561 out of 10 women have PCOS and many more women aren’t even aware!
The biggest indication is if you have an irregular or no period – I’m shocked by how many of my other friends have this symptom!

If you have several of these PCOS symptoms, consider getting an ultrasound of your ovaries in addition to blood work:

  • Abnormally high blood sugar (or diabetes)
  • High heart disease markers (in your blood work)
  • Missing or irregular periods
  • Infertility
  • High testosterone (but below 200)
  • Weight gain
  • Hair loss
  • Abnormal hair growth
  • Acne

Take a moment to imagine living your life free of symptoms.

You are worth it and deserve to be the happiest and healthiest you, you can be.

I’ll be posting more this week on the causes and treatments for both illness so check back soon!
