Axiology – Natural, Organic, Luxury Lipstick (Compared to Cover Girl)

Who says organic lipstick can’t be just as good as the conventional stuff? Not me – because I have found a “clean” lipstick brand that doesn’t sacrifice pigmentation one bit and leaves your lips feeling hydrated and comfortable with their lightweight, smooth (and vegan) formula. Axiology uses a blend of high quality oils including avocado, castor seed, coconut oil, grapeseed oil, vitamin E oil and orange essential oil which they combine with candelilla was (a beeswax alternative), elderberry extract and natural mineral powders for beautiful, bright colors. That’s it – seriously – nothing else. We’re talking about a lipstick that uses only ingredients that are so clean that you could literally eat it. Resulting in a texture closer to a lip balm but with all of the pigmentation of a lip stick – and impressively long lasting color. I’ve tried a few of their colors but my favorite is a bright pink – Attitude (as pictured). Axiology, Axiology review, Organic Blogger, PCOS, PCOS blogger, Organic Beauty Blogger

Compare this to Cover Girl Lip Perfection Lipstick:

Ummm…. What?
What are these things and why would I want to put them on my body – on my mouth of all places where you know you’re going to undeniably ingest them while eating, drinking an licking your lips throughout the day?

I’d be willing to bet that none of these ingredients are organic (say hello more RoundUp Ready pesticides) but what’s worse is all the added ingredients – why would I want alcohol on my lips? Paraffin is a chemical waste product and will leave your lips with that white stuff in the corners (this is a type of wax that is used to make your lips feel smoother without actually adding any ingredients to actually hydrate or soothe your lips)? Typically the “fragrance” would be synthetic fragrance and the pigment used is of course all synthetic as you can see. With all of these questionable ingredients, it’s no wonder these are the instructions provided in case of ingestion:

“Ingestion: Accidental ingestion of product may necessitate medical attention. In case of accidental ingestion dilute with fluids (water or milk) and treat symptomatically. Do not induce vomiting. Note: After first aid treatment, the caller should be advised that 1) a hospital emergency room or family physician should be consulted if anything unusual occurs or appears necessary in the judgment of the caller, and 2) that the subsequent management of the accident should be dictated by any persistent symptoms and under the direction of the physician.”

Compared to this Cover Girl product, Axiology offers transparency to create a beautiful lipstick you can feel good about using daily.
