Are Your Nail Care Products Toxic?

When I was a kid I used to have so much fun spending hours making my nails a look perfect every week. As I got older I did some terrible things to my nails – gluing, tips and shellac – you name it I’ve done it! I just love the way my hands (and toes) look when they’ve been freshly manicured.

handsOf course this left my nails crying out for help from all the abuse they endured. They were not longer┬ástrong or healthy enough to do anything with and worse yet – I had no idea how hazardous all of these chemicals were to my health.

Top offenders are….

Introducing the “toxic trio”: formaldehyde, ibutyl phthalate, and toluene.

These chemicals are not only known carcinogens but have also birth defects and developmental problems in pregnant women with extended exposure. Pretty serious!

Between the glue, paint, remover, base coat, top coat AND strengthening and repair serums, that’s a lot of exposure to all sorts of toxins.

Worry not! Now you know what to look out for when you pick up your next nail product. My favoritephytocharm, all natural nail lotion to use is Phytocharm. They have 4 products depending on your concern but I have tried them all and I was so surprised by how quickly and how well it worked! And it lacked that nasty, strong smell most nail products have, instead it smelled of fresh linens.

How’d have thought that its possible to create such a good product WITHOUT a single harmful ingredient?

Though many stores aren’t get carrying this nail saving product, you can purchase the 4 pack from Lux & Eco right here:
